How to Join SHRD in 4 Easy Steps

Enrollment in the Society for Horticultural Research and Development follows a structured, transparent process conforming to official scientific society standards.

Complete our online form below with your bio-data and attach your payment receipt, UTR reference number, and photo ID.

Certificate & Access

Upon verification by the Executive Council, receive your official Membership ID, Certificate, and member portal login credentials.

Who is eligible to apply for Life Membership?

Any person holding a degree or diploma in horticulture, agriculture, forestry, botany, plant sciences or allied disciplines, and actively engaged in research, teaching, extension, industry, or administration is eligible to apply for Life Membership of SHRD. Post-graduate scholars and doctoral candidates in horticultural disciplines are also eligible.

How long does the membership enrollment and verification process take?

Once you submit your application along with your payment UTR / transaction details, our Secretariat verifies the remittance within 2 to 3 working days. The Executive Council formally ratifies the membership, after which your official Membership ID, Certificate, and portal access credentials are sent to your registered email address.

Can foreign scientists and overseas institutions apply for SHRD membership?

Yes! Scientists, researchers, and academic institutions worldwide are welcomed into SHRD. Applicable foreign fees are US$ 132 for Life Member, US$ 273 for Patron Member, US$ 260 for Institutional Member, and US$ 433 for Corporate Member. International remittances can be processed via Swift / Wire transfer or international cards.

What are the manuscript publication benefits for SHRD Life Members?

Life Members of SHRD receive priority peer-review processing for manuscript submissions to our NAAS-rated research journal Current Horticulture, along with concessions on publication processing charges, free access to all current and archival issues, and invitations to contribute invited review articles.

How can I obtain an official receipt for institutional or project reimbursement?

Upon successful verification of your payment, an official stamped receipt from the Treasurer of SHRD is emailed in PDF format. This receipt includes Society registration details (Reg No. 144) and is fully valid for reimbursement from university contingency grants, ICAR project funds, or employer allowances.

Can I make payment offline using a Cheque or Demand Draft?

Yes. Demand Drafts or at-par Cheques must be drawn in favour of "Treasurer, Society for Horticultural Research and Development", payable at Ghaziabad. The DD/Cheque along with a printed copy of the application form should be posted to: Society for Horticultural Research and Development, SD-70, Shastri Nagar, Ghaziabad 201 002, Uttar Pradesh, India.
